The George Centre is a modern, private day, multi-day and maternity hospital providing services to residents of Camden and surrounding LGAs.
Designed as a haven of comfort and care
Designed to meet the healthcare and greater needs of our patients and guests, our modern innovative building encompasses abundant natural light and extensive garden areas. These and other elements form part of “evidence based design principles” which are believed to improve health outcomes.
Accessible
The George Centre provides services not previously available to our region in an easily accessible location with ample on site parking in our multi-deck car park and patient drop-off and pick-up zones at ground level.
Basement Level
The basement level of The George Centre includes the following service areas: Medical imaging, Endoscopy Suite, Fresh Cook Kitchen, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).
Dedicated Endoscopy Unit
This specialised unit allows for more efficient patient flow for day patients through our two dedicated endoscopy suites. Together with participating specialists, our hospital now offers a Rapid Access service for endoscopy. You can learn more about this on the Direct Access Endoscopy page of this website.
Medical Imaging Suite
Scan Medical located on the basenent level of the hospital provide comprehensive imaging services including:
– MRI
– CT
– Utrasound
– X-Ray
Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)
The CSSD is a highly specialised area of the hospital that is responsible for the collection, decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution of the sterile goods and equipment used for our patient care.
Kitchen
Our fresh cook kitchen is under the control or our Hotel Services Manager and is located in the basement of the hospital. The George Centre has fresh seasonal adult and childrens menus with choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ground Floor
Parking
Near to the main entry to the hospital is a free 10-minute drop-off and pick-up zone. The zone is closely monitored, so please be considerate of others on your visit and your use of this area.
Multi-deck paid car park
Adjacent to the hospital is a paid multi-deck car park.
The George Centre has been designed to enhance our patient’s and visitors comfort and make them feel relaxed and at ease during
their stay.
When you come to our hospital, you will notice our ground floor area has ample seating, abundant natural light with views to our gardens, and stunning artworks including a commissioned work by a local Aboriginal artist at our entry doors.
Reception and billing teams
The hospital’s reception and billing teams are located in our ground floor lobby. They are there to assist with any questions you might have; manage your booking and billing enquiries and your payments.
City Fertility
City Fertility have comprehensive fertility services supported by leading facility specialists, a consulting suite and a laboratory in Suites 7 – 10 of The George Centre.

Level One
Theatre Suite
The George Centre has 5 modern operating theatres supported by a stage 1 and stage 2 recovery unit and a dedicated paediatric recovery unit.
Delivery Suite
Our Delivery Suite boasts 4 ultra-modern and spacious private birthing suites. Each suite has its own private facilities including a large ensuite with double shower heads and baths for pain relief and a “Cosy Cot”.
Level Two
The George Centre’s Paediatric Ward is a private light-filled space.
Maternity and Paediatric Wards
Our 26-bed maternity ward includes 5 LUXE suites, a well-baby nursery and a 4-cot special care nursery. The George Centre also has a dedicated paediatric ward. Both the maternity and paediatric wards have controlled access to further ensure the safety of our patients.
Level Three
Surgical Ward
Our surgical ward has all private rooms.
Education Hive
The George Centre boasts a large education space and terrace that can be altered in size to suit the needs of our education providers.
