General Visitor Information
Our patient’s safety is our highest priority. Please follow our staff’s directions at all times and use the hand-sanitizer provided upon arrival at the hospital and when in the ward area.
Before visiting The George Centre, visitors must:
- Not be waiting for a COVID-19 test result;
- Not have tested positive to COVID-19 within the past 7 days;
- Not have clinical flu like symptoms or COVID-19
Visiting Hours and Restrictions
Surgical Ward
- 2 visitors per time permitted
- Hours between 10am and 8pm
Paediatric Ward
No visitor is permitted to paediatric rooms unless accompanied by a parent or parent delegate.
- 2 visitors per time permitted
- Hours between 10am and 8pm
Maternity Services
Birthing Suite
- 2 support people only are allowed in the Birthing Suite
- Children are not allowed as support people
- After Hours Access via the intercom at the main entrance
Maternity Unit
- Main support person can stay overnight
- Sibling only visiting 10am-12noon
- General visiting hours 3pm-8pm maximum of 2 visitors at any one time
Special Care Nursery
- Parents only
Pick-ups and drop-offs
There are a number of 10-minute pick-up and drop-off parking spaces located next to the main entry of the hospital prior to entry to the main car park through the boom gate.
NB: These spaces are closely monitored and overstayed vehicles risk being towed at the owner’s expense.
Car Parking
The George Centre has a paid multi-deck carpark adjacent to the hospital building. Access is gained through the boom gate entrance.
The carpark is open 7 days, 365 days per year from 6am – 8pm
NB: The George Centre accepts no responsibility for cars parked in the car park or valuables therein.
